1928-2022

Informations

Argyro Gouvis, born Tsafoulias, age 93, of Skoura, Laconia, Greece, passed away at home on Sunday, March 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved wife of the late Christos and loving mother of Panagiotis (Elizabeth) and Petros (Lucie) Gouvis.

Grandmother of Lucas (Alessia) and Shawn, whom she adored. Daughter of the late Petros and Klimentia, born Fountas, Tsafoulias. Dear sister of Bill (Dimitra) Tsafoulias, Nick (Martha) Tsafoulias, the late Dina (Kiriakos) Delalis, the late Pota (Pano) Kontou, the late Socrates (Effie) Tsafoulias and the late Pano Tsafoulias.

She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family members and friends here, as well as in the US and Greece.

Argyro was a smart, feisty, proud woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Her family came first, but her kindness and warmth extended to her friends and community as well.

Even in her last few weeks, as she was fighting an unbeatable illness, she was still trying to make life easier for everyone and made us smile with her stories and sense of humor.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for having had her in our lives and we will miss her every single day.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Visitation on Monday, April 4, 2022, between the hours of 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM at Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Home, 2500 des Perron Avenue in Auteuil, Laval, QC H7J 1G2.

The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3780 Chemin du Souvenir, Laval, QC H7V 1Y3, followed by interment at Sainte-Dorothée Cemetery, 655 Principale Street, Laval, QC H7X 1E2.

Those who prefer to send a gift in lieu of flowers may do so, in memory of Argyro, to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation as children brought her so much joy throughout her life.

Rest in peace Argyro
