A.H. (Mike) Michell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. A.H. (Mike) Michell on August 14, 2008, peacefully, surrounded by family at the age of 78.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Jeannine, children Michael (wife Natasja, sons Noah and Joshua), Marie (husband Rolf, sons Tristan and Wilhem), Stephen (wife Nora, daughter Lauren), Carol (daughters Michelle and Nicole) and June (son Tyson).
Mr. Michell retired in 1990 as Vice-Chairman of the Royal Bank of Canada after a distinguished 43 year career which began in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1947. He was a director of numerous corporations including The Royal Bank of Canada, The Royal Trust Company, Gulf Canada Resources Limited, Abitibi Price Inc, AG Resources Corporation, The Bankers' Trust Company, AT&T Canada Long Distance and Unitel Communications Inc.. He also served as Co-chairman of the Learning Center, McGill - Montreal Children's Hospital, Director of the Montreal Children's Hospital and as a member of the Board of Govenors, Concordia University.
Mike will be missed for his many gifts including a quick wit, unstoppable determination and energy, honesty and integrity, great zest for life and his love of his family and wife Jeannine.
The funeral will be held at Urgel Bourgie on Sunday, August at 7:00 pm.
The family has requested indidividuals consider donations to The Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
