It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Antonino (Nino) Scalia on November 23 , 2024 at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna and survived by his three children Carmelina, Tony and Rosanna. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kevin Anthony, Michael Evan and John Ryan, his sister Maria and his brothers Vincenzo and Domenico.

The family will receive condolences at funeral complex Urgel Bourgie / Athos at 6700 rue Beaubien on Monday December 2nd, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life mass will take place on Tuesday December 3rd, 2024 at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (7645 Rue Du Mans at 10:00 am)

He will be remembered for his love of gardening and his delicious homemade meals, tomato sauce and wine. He also loved taking family trips back to his hometown in Sicily and instilling in us its rich culture, language and traditions.

Though we’ll all miss him more than words can say, we can take comfort in knowing that the love, memories and examples of hard work and dedication he gave us will continue to live on in each of us forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Heart Institute or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
