Joyce Jazzar

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Jazzar Saad at the age of 96.

She passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on October 30, 2024. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Karen (Lonnie Weatherby) and Alida (Brian Rossy), her granddaughters Daphne (Jack Sahakian), Laura and Lisa and her beloved great-grandsons Lukas and Anthony as well as her sister Bernice (Jacques Vincent), and many nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly remembered by her devoted caregiver of over 20 years, Marissa, and many others who cared for her.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Micheal Saad. Joyce was widowed at 21 years old and raised her two daughters with the support of her large and loving family of three sisters and five brothers. She was happiest spending time with her family, tending to her garden, listening to music while singing along, and reminiscing about her years spent in Longueuil. She was a hardworking woman who managed the Jazzar store in Longueuil, served as a clerk in the office of the Longueuil school board, and for many years held a position in the accounting department at The Bay.

In retirement, she volunteered at the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox church. Joyce will be remembered for her incredible kindness and generosity, finding joy in simple pleasures like a McDonald's cup of coffee.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 6, at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 80 de Castelnau, Montreal from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Funeral services will follow from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church (https://stnicholasmtl.com).
