Lona Catherine Williams
Lona Williams, at the age of 90, passed away peacefully in Montreal, on October 09, 2024.
Lona was known for her kindness, humour and unique ability to make many laugh and a few cry!
The daughter of the late John James Williams and the late Lennie Williams (nee Joseph). She is
survived by her daughter Debbie Williams, son Victor Williams, nieces/nephews (Calder): Daphne,
Kenny, Roger, Joan, Roland, Raymond, Leslie & Garfield. As well as surviving cousins (Hopkins): Fr.
Leroy, Elred, Alice, Finbar, Bernadette, General Consul Gerry, Detective Ken, Charmaine, Dr.
Heriann, Hayden, Hazel, Huron, Darryl, (Williams): Bishop Gerald, Anne, Joshua, Patrice Nurse,
Patricia Chasteau, Michael Grannum. Plus a multitude of other relatives and friends.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday October 18th, 2024 at Urgel Bourgie Athos.

Lona Williams was the last remaining active and original member of the Grenada Nationals
Association of Montreal Inc.
She volunteered her services to the community throughout the years. Second to the community
she held a deep and abiding interest in cultural activities.
Lona was always involved in activities to promote, and participated in cultural extravaganza.
She was also a founding member of the Grenada Ensemble. A group dedicated to spreading the
culture of Grenada. They continue as cultural ambassadors in the Montreal community through
dance and folklore. Lona played an important role in disseminating historical cultural knowledge.
We are pleased to commemorate the volunteerism and cultural contributions of Lona to the
betterment of the Greater Montreal cultural community.
Donations to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
