Rita Kayem
Our dear "Lita", as she was lovingly called, passed away on September 23rd, 2024, at the age of 90 following a stroke.
She leaves behind her children, Sandy, Marc, Carole, Michael and Chantal, as well as her sister Yvette, her 10 grand-children, her 3 great-grandchildren, her brothers Claude and Alain, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marguerite (Rita for short) was the daughter of Émile Caillate, who passed away in France. She traveled to Uruguay with her mother Marie, "cousin" Assad, her 2 sisters Yvette and the late Sylviane. She arrived in Montreal on July 6th,1956.
She met her husband Johnny in Montreal at the Cathédrale Saint-Sauveur and they had a beautiful family and a wonderful life together. They both loved to dance, to entertain and to prepare delicious meals for their family and friends.
Rita was a translator and later became a very successful real-estate agent. She enjoyed organizing social and cultural events at the Cervantes Club. She was incredibly optimistic and loved a good challenge!
We would like to thank the whole team at the CHSLD Château Westmount, who took excellent care of her, during the years that she was there.
