Gracia Cholette
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Gracia Cholette, wife of the late Raymond Newby, on September 18, 2024 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late Edmond Cholette and the late Élodia Leduc, of Alexandria, Ontario.
After the accidental death of her parents and grandmother in Ontario in 1935, Gracia was raised and cared for by her aunt, the late Anna Plante Chartrand, in Montreal.
Mrs Cholette is survived by her children: Jean-Pierre (Monique), André (Monique), Louise (Bernard) and Diane (Benoit), her nine grandchildren, her seven great-grandchildren, her great-great-granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien East in Montreal. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at Saint-Léonard Catholic Church, 5525 Jarry Street East in Montréal. Interment will follow at Saint-Léonard Cemetery.
A donation to the Alzheimer Society could help them continue their research.
