Donald Kouri
Information
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Kouri, who left us peacefully, on September 12, 2024, at the age of 95.
Devoted son of the late Khalil Kouri and Linda Thoun, he was predeceased by his sister Eileen, his brother Kenneth (Carol Miller) and his son Gregory Kouri (Jean Marie Echemendia), whose loss he felt profoundly.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife Diane Barakett, his son Andrew (Nathalie Talbot) and his 5 granddaughters, Megan, Alexandra, Caroline, Vanessa and Ava, of whom he was very proud.
He was a highly respected businessman who founded Coronation Foods and became the CEO of RJR Nabisco Canada and eventually transitioned into real estate development, alongside his two sons. His business acumen led to his appointment to many boards of directors. Donald believed in giving back to the community and was an active member of many charitable causes.
Donald loved to travel the world with his wife Diane by his side and during his travels made good use of the 5 languages he spoke. He enjoyed spending winters at Quail Ridge in Florida, dining and playing golf with his many friends. Until the very end, Donald remained an avid reader of news and kept himself current on world affairs and politics.
Many thanks to friends Delia and Youssef for their care and support.
Donald will be greatly missed and his memory cherished by all who knew him.
