Gerardus Willem Bloemendaal (Gerard) 88, formerly of the Netherlands passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2024.

He was the devoted husband of 57 years to Patricia Hinds-Bloemendaal, the beloved father to Evelyn Bloemendaal (Dann Tardif) and Edward Bloemendaal (Beatrice Lombardi) as well as the very proud Opa to Joshua, Keighlan and Siena.

In 1956, his life journey took him from Leiderdorp, Holland to Montreal, Canada seeking new adventures, where he raised his family, and spent the past 68 years. He had many loves; gardening, growing cactuses, travel and a good debate, but what he loved most was his family and his three grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

A pragmatic man who never wavered from his values of honesty and integrity, we will forever remember him as a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
