Nicolas Nicolopoulos
Born in Amalias, Ilias (Greece), Nicolas Nicolopoulos passed away in Montreal at the age of 84.
The twists and turns of life took him from Greece to Canada, where love at first sight prompted him to settle down for good.
This was the beginning of the Symposium restaurant adventure, which he steered for over 30 years. His customers, from near and far, many of whom became friends, loved to find 'their' Nicos... offering them convivial Greek-style menus.
Welcoming, open and warm-hearted, Nicos was always ready to share his life experiences and knowledge (of history and politics); he expressed his love for his family and his pride in having made his children appreciate his homeland.
He is survived by his wife, Danielle Garcia; their children, Stéphane (Sophie) and Mélina (Philippe-Armand); their grandchildren, Victor, Elliot, Ugo and Timothée, Danaé, Léonard; as well as many relatives and friends in Greece, in France and Quebec.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex, 3955 Côte-de-Liesse Road, Montreal, H4N 2N6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jewish General Hospital of Montreal or to the CHSLD Vigi Mont-Royal Volunteer Association.
