Velma Beals
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Velma Thomas on September 6th 2024.
Born on May 29th, 1941 in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of Gordon Beals and Ethel Beals and a sister to Wilford, Alice, Marion, and Erine.
Velma worked for the military as an accounting clerk and later married her late husband Eldon Thomas in 1960 to whom she was a loving wife for 58 years.
Velma leaves to mourn her children Carl, Darlene, Darcelle (Robert), Carla, her step daughter Selena (Chris), her grandchildren Tanya, Sheray (Jennifer), Trumaine (Summer), Rashida, Chelsea (Brandon), Carl Junior, Derrick Junior and Shania, her many great grandchildren, her sibling Erine as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She will be joining her beloved husband, her late son Derrick and her late granddaughter Tiffany.
She was Mom to many and a great confidant.
The family will receive condolences Thursday, September 19th 2024, from 12 pm to 3 pm at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos funeral complex, 1275 Dollard in LaSalle. The funeral will follow starting at 3 pm at the chapel of the funeral complex.
