Khoa Dieu Hong Nguyen

On August 31, 2024, at the age of 96, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Madame Nguyên Khoa Dieu-Hong widow of Duong Dinh Xuan, passed away peacefully in the palliative care unit of Hôpital Charles-Lemoyne, surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her children Duong Dang Viet Hue, Duong Dang Vinh (Vu Hoang Nga), Duong Dang Viet Thuan and Duong Dang Dieu Thuc; grandchildren Eric Duong Lamoureux, Jean-François Duong Lamoureux (Benjamas Sbyhair), Christophe Duong Lefebvre (Marilou Tremblay), Gabriel Duong Lefebvre (Tchad Blanchard-Beauchemin), Mélissa Bao-Ngoc Duong (Brendon Fuoco), Claudia Bao-Tran Duong (Iymad Mansour), Andrew Duong Beauchamp (Audrey-Ann Beaulieu), Walter Duong Beauchamp, William Duong Beauchamp (Karine Sorel) and Ivana Duong Beauchamp; her great-grandchildren Loan Lamoureux, Sacha Lamoureux, Angèle Duong Beauchemin and Emma Beauchamp. She is also survived by her brother Nguyen Khoa Thieu (Kim Dieu) and her nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Her love for her family and loved ones spoke for itself. With her expert hands, she expressed her affection for each and every one of us: she sewed, embroidered, knitted and repaired our clothes. She prepared and concocted dishes according to our preferences. Right up to her last moments, she was still eager to welcome us with generosity.

Courageous and determined, she took her family across the ocean from communism in 1975. Arriving in Canada empty-handed, she began a new chapter in her life with great perseverance and never a complaint.

She will be sorely missed. Despite her absence, she will continue to inspire us and will always remain our role model.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to the medical team at Charles-Lemoyne Hospital, 4th North, for their dedication and humanism.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Complex located at 3955 Chemin De La Côte-de-Liesse, Saint-Laurent.

The family would be grateful for memorial donations in his memory to the Charles Lemoyne Foundation: https://fhclm.ca/
