György Sari
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of György "George" Sari at 12:50pm, peacefully with family by his side on August 24, 2024 in his adopted city of Montreal at the age of 82. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years, depicted his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile and steadfast sense of humor. Despite the pain, he remained a warrior, -strong until the end.
We say goodbye to a sweet, gentle and beautiful soul. György was a loving husband to his devoted wife Erzsike. He was an outstanding father to his two loving daughters, Monika and Henriette (Carl) and his adored grandchildren Charlotte and Alexander. Son of the late Károly Sári Sr., and the late Mária Tamás, brother to Steve (Regina), the late Károly Jr. (Krisztina), and the late Mária (late János). György is fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins in Hungary, as well as in the United States and Ontario. He was a loyal friend, bringing laughter and joy to those that were privileged to cross his path.
While he was an avid hunter, and relished spending time outdoors, his greatest love and passion was for his family.
The family will receive condolences on August 30, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex located at 3955 ch. de la Côte-de-Liesse in Montreal. A service will be held on August 31st, commencing at 10 a.m. at the complex chapel, followed by the burial at Jardins Urgel Bourgie, on site.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that any donations be made to the Montreal Heart Institute:
