Antonia Ruscigno passed away peacefully in Montreal on July 11, 2024 at the age of 96. On her journey into God’s Eternal Grace, she was lovingly surrounded by family.

Antonia was born in Sannicandro di Bari in Italy in 1927. She married Giacomo De Pinto in her home town in 1951 and, in 1962, they moved to Canada making Montreal their new home. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, and led by example. For her family, she created a rich life filled with love, compassion, generosity, and everlasting memories.

Antonia was predeceased by her husband Giacomo De Pinto in 2008. She was also predeceased by her sisters Maria (Frank), Marianna (Antonio), and Giuseppina (Francesco) and her brother Gennaro.

She leaves to mourn her son Nicola (Wanda) and her daughter Carmela. Relatives in Montreal—her sister-in-law Rosa, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews—also mourn her loss along with cousins in Italy and the United States.

Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 18, 2024 with visitations from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien East, Montreal, and at a funeral Mass on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 7645 Rue du Mans, Saint-Leonard. The burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Claire Mausoleum of the Le Repos Saint-François d’Assise Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Santa Cabrini hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fondation de l’Hôpital Santa Cabrini.
