It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mrs Gilda Crapanzano, in Montreal on 8 July 2024.

She is survived by her children Michele, Rosario, Lucia (Giuseppe Boccardi) and Francesca Barbaro, her grandchildren Daniel, Stéphanie, Jessica, Bianca (David Rochette) and Giuliano, her niece Sarina, her brother-in-law Alberto, her daughter-in-law Marguerite and many relatives in Italy and New York.

Gilda was born in Saponara, Sicily, on 18 September 1928. She was the beloved wife of the late Stefano Barbaro, married for 52 years.

She was a devoted mother, with the biggest heart for her children and grandchildren. Her generosity, forgiveness and love will always be remembered.

The family will welcome you on Monday, July 15 at the Urgel Bourgie/ Athos Funeral Complex located at 6700 Beaubien in Montreal from 10 am to 2 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Complex at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Repos St-François d'Assise.
