Claire passed away peacefully on the 30th of June 2024 at the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Continuing Care Centre in Cornwall, ON at the age of 78. Mme Bertrand lived in the City of Cornwall, she is the daughter of the late René Bertrand and the late Lorette Brunet.

She is survived by her husband, James Patrick Barton, her son Patrick Pelletier and her daughter Kim Pelletier. She will be missed by numerous friends, cousins and family members.

Claire was born in January 1946 and grew up in Montréal. During her early working years, Claire worked as a Telephone Operator with Bell Canada, then later-on transitioned to being a legal secretary at a local notary’s office until her retirement. Claire married the late Jean-Pierre Pelletier, with whom she had two children, Patrick and Kim Pelletier. Later in life, Claire moved to Ontario, first in Toronto, followed by Oshawa, to finally settle in the City of Cornwall with her husband James Patrick Barton.

Claire was notable for placing the utmost importance in maintaining strong ties with her family, which included her son, daughter, along with all the cousins. She will be missed by many.

The family will receive family and friends for greetings on July 10, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Salon Urgel Bourgie 3955 Ch. Cote de Liesse.
