On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Jean-Pierre passed away at Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal. He was the son of the late Oswald Amyot and the late Dorothy Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Andrée Duhamel, his daughters Renée (Patrick Bourgeois) and Elise (Doug Estey), his grandchildren Maude, Simon, Zoé and their spouses, and his three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and many friends.

In his final days, he was able to bid farewell to all. He was an upright, honest man whose heart was in the right place. He was a former high school teacher who was much appreciated by his students. He was a great bridge player and retained his sense of humour to the end. He had unconditional love for his wife and daughters.

The sky was dark with heavy clouds, but the sun showed its nose at your last breath to show you the way.
