Linda Millar (Née Sandilands)

1953-2024

Information

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Millar Sandilands on June 2nd, 2024, at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Scott Millar, having recently marked their 50th wedding anniversary. Proud mother of Devon, mother-in-law to Louise, and grandmother (Nan) to Finlay. Linda also leaves behind many loved ones, and her two dogs, Gus and Treun.

Linda loved helping friends and family with distance never being an issue; nearly reaching 500,000 km with her Venza, a goal that will be completed on her behalf. She enjoyed participating in friend and family gatherings, eating well, and discovering good wine and scotch.

She found great happiness living in the Laurentians, spending time outdoors, hiking in the summer, and snowshoeing in the winter. She and Scott travelled to music festivals and art shows in Montreal, New York, and the Maritimes, frequently joined by close friends.

Linda raised many dogs of various breeds, winning titles in obedience and agility. She excelled in dog training, and often volunteered to calm nervous travellers with Gus at the Montreal airport. As a self-employed businesswoman, she was the Canadian distributor of an organic pet nutrition brand.

Heartfelt thanks go to those who visited during her final days on short notice. A special thank you to her close friends, Gaile and Liz, who helped immensely with her comfort and with the dogs.

There will be a small remembrance service held at the Montreal Memorial Garden facility (Urgel Bourgie 3955 Cote De Liesse, Saint-Laurent) on June 26th, 2024, from 10:00-13:00 with memories shared starting at 11:00. Afterwards, there will be a private luncheon for family and invited guests.
