SIMPSON, James David April 22, 1935-June 3, 2024, passed away after a short health battle. Left to mourn is his wife of 66 years, Valerie (Kelly), children Colleen (Mike Hopkins), Sharon (Matthew Nalawajek) and Brian. Grandchildren David and Allison Hopkins, Natasza Nalewajek (Francis) and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was the last of his generation and predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

Dave was a quintessential Montrealer and made a great number of friends during his career as an elevator mechanic and through his activities at Twin Ells Camps Site, Golfing, Bowling and Curling.

Dave had kind words and jokes for anyone he met and made friends wherever he went.

Dad’s beautiful, larger than life personality will be greatly missed by all.

Special thanks to the Jewish General Hospital, Drs. Cassis and Hirsch, and team for their dedication to Dad’s health.

The family will receive condolences on June 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien Street East.

Celebration of Life will be held on the same day at 2:30 p.m. followed by a reception. The ceremony will be live streamed on urgelbourgie.com in the obituaries section.
