It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pierre J. Gauthier on May 17th at the CHSLD Notre-Dame de la Merci following a long illness.

Son of the late Simone Marineau and the late Alexandre Gauthier, he is survived by his partner of the last 25 years, Lyse Mercille, as well as his large family, his sons Pierre Jr. and Gilles, along with their respective families, and the mother of his children, the late Joan Brennan.

Known as a passionate individual, Pierre J was always eager for new discoveries. His work as a technologist took him to several countries, leading to his fondness for Egypt. He will also be remembered for his passions for the cosmos, opera, golf, and bridge.

An amateur painter, he leaves behind several paintings representing different moments of his life.

We would like to thank the dedicated staff of the CHSLD N.D. de la Merci for their care and understanding.

Condolences will be received on May 31st, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex located at 3395 Chemin de la Côte de Liesse, Ville Saint-Laurent, and a tribute ceremony will take place there starting at 3:00 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be shown through a donation to the Fondation Gracia of the CHSLD N.D. de la Merci located at 555 Boulevard Gouin Ouest in Montreal.
