It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Lalitaben Gandhi at her home on May 9, 2024, at the age of 95.

Lalitaben was born on January 14, 1929 in Kaliawadi, Gujarat, India to the Late Shri Narandas Ukabhai Modi, Late Smt Bhuliben Narandas Gandhi. She was the youngest of 2 children, and had lots of love and support from her cousins.

Lalitaben married the Late Shri Nagindas Narsaidas Patel in 1943 and 6 children were born from this union.

She had started a business at a very young age and was well respected in the community.
She came to Canada in 1980, dedicated her life to family and helped raise her family to where it is today.

Lalitaben was a strong, loving and caring person; a devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”

Her memory will be cherished by her children late Shree Dhansukhbhai, Bhikhubhai, Bharatbhai, and Ashokbhai; her daughter-in-laws Daxaben, Naynaben and Jayshreeben; her grandchildren Prity, Mamta, Dipti, Uma, Jay, Kamal, Arti, Shyam; her great-grandchildren Urvi, Mohit, Drashti, Viaan, Viha, Dilan, Reah, Ryan, Ray and Diya, and many relatives and friends.

A Viewing and Hindu Ceremony will be held at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral home, located at 3955 Côte de Liesse, Ville St-Laurent H4N 2N6, on Sunday May 12, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m, followed by cremation.
