It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Maria Sgro Fortugno on April 17, 2024 in Montreal. She was the wife of Mr. Giovanni Fortugno and daughter of the late Giuseppe Sgro and Nicolina Cannizzaro.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children Consolata (Michael Teolis), Antonino and Giuseppe (Costanza Proscino) and grandsons Giancarlo and Massimo Teolis.

She is also survived by her brother Paulo (Concetta Boruto) and sister Giuseppa (Pasquale Scaramuzzino), nephews and nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on May 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint-Donat Church, 6805 rue de Marseille, Montréal, with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marie-Clarac Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
