It is with enormous sadness that the family of Edward John Muszynski announce his passing on Monday 18th March, 2024, at Lake Forest Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Edward died peacefully after a brave battle, surrounded by the love and support of his family.

Born in Montreal in 1936, Edward spent his formative years and was educated at D’Arcy McGee High School before studying engineering at McGill University. Edward distinguished himself at McGill by earning the Gold and Bronze Medals and achieving University Scholar each year. After being accepted to Harvard, he ultimately chose Wharton Business School for his graduate studies and earned his MBA there in 1965. In Edward’s professional life he was both an entrepreneur and top-tier executive, but always referred to himself as “just a boy off the farm, who never told a lie.”

In a storied career, he held positions at Pratt & Whitney and Monsanto (now Bayer) before rising to become a senior executive at the Bank of Montreal. He headed the BMO operations in Chicago from 1985. In 1994 Edward retired so he could be chief caretaker for his beloved wife Stephanie in the final year of her life. Always seeking a new challenge, in his retirement Edward turned his business acumen to the family’s property management company, Grad Construction. Edward lived all his days to the fullest and will be remembered for his enormous talents, great generosity and zest for life.

He was a loving, dedicated father and a giving, thoughtful grandfather. His family and friends are now bereft, but grateful to celebrate the life and cherished memories of this extraordinary man. Edward is survived by his daughter Carolyn (husband Michael); grandchildren Christopher and Benjamin; his son, Mark (wife Michelle, her children Sophia and Teddy); his sister Stella Partyka and his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his wife Stephanie Marie Muszynski.

Wake Monday April 1st from 5PM-7:30PM at Urgel Bourgie 1255 Beaumont Ave, Mount Royal, Quebec H3P 3J1;

Funeral Mass Tuesday April 2nd 10AM Our Lady of the Annunciation Church1020 Laird Blvd, Mount Royal, Quebec H3R 2G9.
