It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Carmel Séguin, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 91.

Husband of Irène Séguin and brother of the late Jean-Yves, the late Claudette, the late Charles and the late Gérald, he is survived by his children Jean (Nathalie Beauchamp), Michel (Marthe Lacasse), Marc-André, his grandchildren Andréanne, Caroline, Marie-Pier, William, Annabelle and Élizabeth, his brother Paul (Marie-Claire), his sisters-in-law Lucette, Annette, Juliette.

He is also survived by nephews and nieces, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

He obtained a degree in philosophy and a master's degree in theology from the University of Ottawa in 1959. He had a remarkable career as a social development agent at the Secretariat of State of the federal government in the Mauricie region. in Quebec, then in Ottawa, where he exercised the same responsibilities with French-speaking communities outside Quebec, particularly those in eastern Ontario.

The family will receive condolences at the Urgel Bourgie/ Athos Funeral Complex, 2500 Des Perron Avenue, Laval, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a viewing.

The family wishes to extend their affectionate thanks to all the staff on the second floor of CHSLD Riviera for the attention, care, love and professionalism they showed Carmel during the last four years of his beautiful life.

A donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will continue Carmel's cause in memory of his altruism toward citizens in need.
