It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Vita Maria Carrara (nee DeFilippis) in her 88th year.

Loving wife of the late Domenico Carrara, devoted mother to Tino (Carmela), Leo (Teresa) and Vito (Sonia).

Cherished and proud nonna of Vita(Gianni), Domenico(Stefania), Bianca(Shane), Genna (Eric), Melia and William. Great grandmother to Giada, Valentina and Luca.

She is survived by her sister Graziella(Nicola). She will also be remembered by many friends and family in Italy.

We will always be grateful for her love and support . She enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting the holiday dinners which she prepared for days . She was especially devoted to her church and also to the patron saint of her town of Bitritto, for whom she devoted a mass yearly for 30 years.

Our family would like to thank her many caregivers especially Maria and the kind and caring staff at Santa Cabrini Paliative care.

The family will receive condolences on March 1st 2024, from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm, at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien Street East, Montreal.

A mass will be held on March 2 at 10 am at Église Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, 7645 rue du Mans, St-Léonard, followed by interment at Repos St-François-d'Assise, 6893 Sherbrooke Street East, Montréal.
