Information

In loving memory of Carmen Samuels Shaw

After a blessed and fulfilled life, Carmen Samuels Shaw entered the gates of heaven peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Jewish General Hospital on Tuesday February 6, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stanley Shaw, Jason Shaw (son), Erica Shaw (daughter) and Paulette Walker (daughter), her brother Leslie Samuels, two granddaughters Kristen and Kaylie Walker, Brian Walker (son-in-law), numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Carmen is predeceased by her parents Francis Swaby and Ernest Samuels, brothers Thomas and Kenneth Pedro.

Affectionately known as Sister Shaw, Carmen was an early member and active prayer leader at the Church of God of Prophecy in Montreal and Jamaica. She is a self-published author and will be remembered for her generous spirit. She was a natural caregiver, supporter and dedicated her life to work in health care.

Holding multiple certificates in nutrition, counseling and ministry, Carmen was a life-long learner and passionately supported Woodland Primary School in Manchester Jamaica. In lieu of flowers, donations to Carmen’s scholarship fund/project can be sent via e-transfer to cshaw514@gmail.com.
