It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mounir Zakaria, who passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Son of the late Edmond Zakaria and Victoire Assi, he is survived by his wife Afaf Zarife and his children Yasmina (Nader Agia), Patrick and Stéphanie.

Jeddo Mounir will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Andréa and Lucas. As well as his brother the late Samir (Marie-Claire), his sisters Nouhad (Claude Moukarzel), Zeina and the late Wadad (the late Sami Moukarzel) and their families, and the Zarifé family.

Mounir is survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex, 1255 Beaumont Ave, Mont Royal.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Monastère Saint Antoine Le Grand, 1520 Ave Ducharme, Outremont.

The family would like to thank all the friends who supported him, as well as the CHUM staff, especially the transplant team who accompanied him throughout his illness, and the intensive care and 19th floor teams, as well as the CLSC Côte-des-Neiges/Parc Extension.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Fondation du CHUM and/or the Monastère Saint Antoine Le Grand would be appreciated.
