Yves Larin

1940-2024

Information

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yves Larin on February 5, 2024, at the age of 83.

He is survived by his wife Suzette, his daughter Sophie (Natasha and the Belcic family), his late daughter Marie-Josée (Pascal and the Sogny family), his granddaughter Délima, his sister France (André Lapierre), his brother Gilles (Béatrice Marton), his sisters-in-law Cécile Turbide, Jeannine Ouellet and Margot Delaney, many nieces and nephews, and his loyal friends Yvan Tremblay and Lucie Clément.

Many thanks to France, André, Gilles, Béatrice, Stéphanie, Yvan, Lucie and his dear nephews, Danny Leblanc (Mylène Delaney) and Damien Turbide (France Normandeau), who accompanied him in his final moments. You are in our hearts forever. Finally, a special thank you to the medical team at Pierre-Boucher Hospital, 6th South.

A kind-hearted man, loving husband and valiant father, he supported and guided our family over the years. With his exemplary judgment, he has been our compass.

A pedagogue to the core, Yves had a flourishing career in education as a teacher, French teaching director and school principal.

He left his mark, marked by rigor and benevolence. You could see it in the children's eyes when they visited him at school.
A music lover, musician (guitar and accordion) and singer with an exceptional ear for music, music was always an important part of his life. He would liven up parties with his cheerful tone and laughter, which everyone appreciated.

A globetrotter who mastered cartography like no other, he made many family trips possible. A lover of food and wine, he enjoyed preparing dishes to share with family and friends.

But above all, Yves had a deep love, respect and interest in people. He forged friendships that spanned decades and continents. His ability to listen, his sensitivity and his generosity were all hallmarks of his personality.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to the Douglas Foundation for Mental Health Research and Care https://fondationdouglas.qc.ca/donnez/

A tribute to Yves will be organized at a later date.
