Georgette Martin Bray

1936-2024

Information

Georgette Martin Bray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, three weeks shy of her 88th birthday, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Georgette was born on February 10, 1936 in Moose Creek, Ontario, Canada, to her parents Hervé Martin and Oriza Filion.

She was the second-to-last of seven children and the last survivor of her immediate family. Georgette's parents predeceased her, leaving her a lifelong legacy of faith, family and love.

Georgette was a devoted wife to her husband of 65 years, Alban Bray, and a caring mother to their three children, Royal, Alain and Chantal. She was the heart of her family, and her home was filled with love and the tantalizing aroma of her world-famous spaghetti sauce, pea soup, all kinds of tarts, "les boucles", "les boulettes", "les rouleaux" and "les cochons", to name but a few.

Known for her elegance and meticulous presentation, Georgette took great care of every aspect of her life. Her legacy goes beyond her culinary talents and fashionable attitude; Georgette will be remembered for the joy she brought to others throughout her life.

Georgette is survived by her husband Alban, sons Royal (Lynn) and Alain, and daughter Chantal (Mark). She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Mathieu (Leann), David, Amanda (Shant), Eric, Patrick, and her great-grandson Julien.

To celebrate Georgette's life, the family asks that she be remembered for the warmth and kindness she brought, rather than for the sadness of her passing. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Église des Saints-Anges, 1400 boul. St-Joseph, Lachine, Québec, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same church. Interment of ashes will take place at a date to be determined at the Saints-Anges Columbarium in Lachine.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca.

May Georgette rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and precious memories.
