Michael Patrick Cavener
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Michael on Nov 17 2023 after a valiant battle against cancer. Born in Montreal, Quebec on August 18, 1972. He is predeceased by his loving parents Margaret and Charles (2008).
He is survived by his cherished and adoring daughter Maddy and best friend Jackie. He is also survived by his 10 sisters and brothers Cathy (Brad), Mark (Carol), Cheryle, Danny (Judy), Wendy (Jim), Charlie (Elise), Jay (Tammy), Penny, Kim (Alain), and Beth (Philip) along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Michael was a talented and gifted artist. He loved music, drawing, writing poetry and carpentry just to name a few. While he had many health struggles throughout his life, he always found a way to express himself through the arts.
His greatest achievement was being a father to Maddy. He taught Maddy many of his own artistic talents and his last creation was writing music from his hospital bed that he gave to her as a final gift.
Imagine you have but one day to live
Oh, how much time would you be willing to give
The hours, the minutes, the seconds of time
The thinner, the weaker, the shorter the line
Should you follow the lead and hold fast for the ride?
Or steer the fragile course to become your own guide?
Pushed from behind, it’s so hard to turn back
But the choice is always there, so near all of life’s traps
With so many questions and so much to do
We race through our life with answers so few.
