With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of George Voucanos on July 21, 2023. He was born on January 30, 1966 in Warren, Ohio to Reverend Father Nicholas and Presbytera Eleni Voucanos.

George grew up in Lincolnwood and Champaign, Illinois, USA, where he graduated from the University of Illinois. He worked for Sony Electronics in Illinois and Wisconsin for several years. Subsequently he moved to Canada to be with his wife, Adriana Civardi (married 2014) and lived in Venise-en-Quebec, Quebec, Canada where they worked together in their accounting business. He is preceded in death by his parents and Adriana’s parents.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Adriana Civardi, sister Maria Sakas, her husband George and their children Eleni and Constantine. He is mourned by a large extended family and friends in Canada, the United States, Greece and Italy. George will be remembered as a dedicated Orthodox Christian who was a selfless, thoughtful, ''bon vivant''. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh.

He was a devoted husband, cherished brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. His various passions included cameras, cars and electronics. He was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley. He was very meticulous and took great care of all his collections.

The Visitation will be at Urgel Bourgie, 3955 de la Côte-de-Liesse, St-Laurent, Quebec, H4N 2N6 from 12 pm (noon) till 3 pm, on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
It will be followed by a funeral church service at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3780 Chemin du Souvenir, Laval, Quebec, H7V 1Y3 from 4 pm to 5 pm. A 40-day memorial service will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, at 1400 O'Plaine Road, Libertyville, IL, 60048 USA following Divine Liturgy on August 27, 2023 at 11 am.
