Mark O'Brien
Mark was born December 14, 1972, and died tragically on March 13, 2023. He achieved so many things in life, but will be remembered most as a man of deep kindness, empathy and generosity.
A wonderful husband, father, son and brother, Mark leaves his loving wife Diane, his three beloved children, Edouard (13), Josephine (11) and Stanislas (9) as well as his parents and siblings, Philip and Judy, Anthony (Liviana Lo Bianco) and Laurie (Tim Foote).
Mark graduated from Lower Canada College in 1990, and then attended and graduated from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, where he made many lifelong friends.
Soon thereafter he began a successful career in real estate at Devencore Realties, which took him to Toronto for several years. For Mark, Montreal would always be home, and when a great career opportunity came up with TD Bank he was able to move back to the city he loved. It might have been the best decision he ever made as it was there that he met his beloved Diane. Mark then took on a series of increasingly challenging positions that helped prepare him for his move to PROREIT in 2013, where he was a key leader for the company for the past ten years.
As his career thrived, so did the life he and Diane were building in Montreal, the Eastern Townships and France. They cherished the time they spent together as they turned their shared dreams into reality.
A gifted athlete, Mark absolutely loved the outdoors. He was an accomplished skier and loved daily tennis and squash matches.
More than anything, Mark adored his three beautiful children. The special bond he shared with each of them will never be forgotten. We are incredibly fortunate that they have inherited so many of his extraordinary traits so we will always have reminders of the beautiful person that Mark was.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues in both Canada and France.
A funeral service for Mark will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Saint Matthias’ Anglican Church, 131 Cote St. Antoine (corner Metcalfe), Montreal.
A reception will follow the Ceremony at Bar George Le Mount Stephen, 1440 Drummond St. Montreal.
