It is with great sorrow and deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Grandmother and great-grandmother Maria Teresa Barillaro Portelese at the age of 83, on January 12, 2023, born in Mamola R.C., Italy on December 2, 1939.

She immigrated to Canada in 1957 at a young age and dedicated her life at raising her family. A woman of prayer and devoted catholic, she found peace through the Lord. She loved spending time in her garden. She loved to write her thoughts and inspirational messages of faith.
She found the must joy through her grandchildren and great grand-children. She is predeceased by her mother Immacolata Mazzone Barillaro, her husband Gaetano Portelese and her beloved great grand-son Kylo.
She is survived by her brother, Francesco Barillaro (Rosalba), her sister Carmelina Schipano Barillaro (Domenico), her sons Frank, Tony (Patricia), her daughter's Lidia (Wilson), Piarita (Carmine), her grandchildren Angelica (Jonathan), Martin, Olivia, Luca and her great grandchildren Noah, Vega and her extended families here and in Italy, Vancouver and Toronto.

The family will receive condolence on Monday January 23, 2023 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm, Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 9 - 10:30 am at
