Sheila Russell
Sheila Knights (nee Russell) a.k.a Sis, Ma, Granny, Sis. Knights, completed her divine assignment as an Angel among us on January 25th 2021.
Graced to us by God through her parents, the late Augustus Russell and Esmeralda Marshall, 6th of their 15 children; she has taken up her new residence in heaven among many of her family and friends who have gone on before her.
Trinidadian by birth she was a good, dare I say great thing packaged in an almost five foot frame virtued with meekness, gentleness and class. Sheila was a powerhouse of a woman who loved to laugh, loved her family and loved her God. A book not to be judged by its cover, she was a great cook and talented seamstress. She exuberated compassion, commanded respect and spoke her mind with confidence and conviction.
Catching the bright eyes of the late Rev. St.Clair Knights she became his queen bride in 1947. Together they ministered at San Juan Pentecostal church in Trinidad. They would continue their ministry and plant the Barataria Pentecostal church before migrating to Montreal in 1966 and henceforth planting BibleWay Pentecostal Church in Montreal and Brossard Evangelistic Center in Brossard.
She gave unconditional love to her children Victor, Maureen, Reginald, Donovan, Molly-Ann, Pamela and Elton. This love transcended to her children-in-law Dianne, late Gennis, Joslyn, Deidre, late Glenn, Mario and Diane. Her 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter all miss her affection, sweet smile, caring presence and funny humor.
She is resting now and rightfully so as her work of love and light among those of us who mourn her absence yet celebrate her life was great and shall never be forgotten.
