Pierre St-Jacques

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pierre St-Jacques on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at the Royal Victoria Hospital at the age of 76. After being ill for several months, he passed away with his wife and three children by his side. Born in Montreal on January 8th, 1944 to Edouard St-Jacques and Adelma Leblanc, Pierre studied at Loyola and graduated with a Chemistry degree in 1966. Pierre married his high school sweetheart in 1968, Barbara Edwards, his loving wife of 52 years. They settled in Town of Mount-Royal, where they raised their three children, Lisa, Melanie and Paul. Pierre enjoyed a successful career as a Pharmaceutical Production Executive for over 30 years. After his retirement, his love for people and "joie de vivre" gave him the opportunity to work at Renot-Depot where he could pursue his passion for meeting new people and sharing stories. A devoted husband and loving father, he was an avid reader of history and war novels, a lover of the culinary arts and took great pride in his garden, tending to his roses and bird feeders, which he loved sharing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and boisterous laughter that was charmingly charismatic and warm, which made people want to be near him. His legacy is one of being a devoted family man, who loved life. He will be forever missed. Pierre is survived by his loving wife Barbara and their 3 children, Lisa (John) and their 4 children Emily, Julia, Jay and Amy; Melanie (Mike) and their daughter Mia (d. 2020); Paul (Shani) and their 2 children Thomas and Olivia; Pierre’s brother Guy; his brother-in-law Cliff (Brigitte), many loving nieces and nephews and close friends. May he rest in Peace. In these unprecedented times, a private Celebration of Life will be held at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex on Cote-de-Liesse in Ville St-Laurent on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 1pm, by invitation only. A video will be available on this site approximately 2 weeks after the service. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make a donation in his memory to the MUHC Cedars Cancer Center OR a charity of your choice. Our family wishes to extend our many thanks and gratitude to Dr. Simon Tanguay and all the staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital, floor C8.
