Joan Côté (née Solinas)

Joan Solinas Cote, age 72, of Montreal, died October 29, 2018 at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal after a short but bravely fought battle with cancer.
She was born on March 4, 1946 to Ralph and Angeline Solinas at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Joan attended St. Pius X High School and later, Concordia University.
She married Jean Charles (Charles) Cote on August 31, 1968, and they had two children, Jean Charles (JC) and Daniel (Danny).
Joan worked in the travel industry for her entire professional career. She worked for Air Canada, Dorval Airport, KNN Travel, Marco Polo Travel, and retired from The International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2011.
Joan was an avid traveler and was fortunate to have visited every country in Europe. She embarked on more than 60 cruises. Her favourite destinations included Italy (particularly Sardinia), Istanbul, and Southern France. Her travels inspired her cooking and she found great joy in preparing international dishes for her family, friends, and neighbours.
Joan is survived by husband, Charles, sons JC (April) and Danny (Jennifer) , grandchildren Jacob and Ella, and sister, Frances.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
