Joseph (Joe) Mell (March 16, 1932 – June 21, 2018), husband of Carole Shaw Mell will be remembered always in the hearts of those whose lives he touched so deeply.

Predeceased by his siblings and his son Patrick, Joe leaves to mourn his children Joan, Michael (Erin), Danny (Dodie), Kathleen and their mother Pauline, his grandchildren Beth, Brendan, Callan, Keira, Calum, Quinn, Liam as well as his step children Rande (Susan), Darla (Harry), grandchildren Carly and Ryan Meredith and sister-in-law Lorraine Costello cnd.

Joe’s beloved community of Point St. Charles has lost a proud and loving man who celebrated his Irish heritage and was honoured in 2014 as the Erin Sports Association Irishman of the Year. A veteran of the Korean War, Joe lived his life to serve others. Among the causes closest to Joe’s heart were Fairshare, CrossRoads, The Waseskun Healing Centre, St. Anne’s New Year’s Eve Veterans Show and of course, Leo’s Boys.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at St. Gabriel’s Parish, 2157 Centre Street, on Thursday June 28, 2018, at noon. The family will receive condolences from 11 am.
