Lydia Helen Gagnon (née Mueller)

Lydia Helen Mueller was born in Holden, AB, on March 6th, 1936 to Karl and Karoline Mueller. The youngest of six children, she was raised on the family farm in Bruce, and later in Osoyoos, BC where she worked with her siblings on the family Orchard. She met her husband (Claude A. Gagnon) in Vancouver while working as the night manager for The White Lunch Cafeteria, thus beginning their 57-year journey together. Upon their wedding day she presented her new husband with his first King James Bible, the foundation of which they built their national gospel of Christ ministry. For 50 years they traveled across Canada preaching the Word of God. Lydia was a constant companion and diligent help meet during years of tent-crusades, revivals and evangelizing. She blessed the congregations by leading song services on the organ, along with her wise counsel. In 1980 and 1981, Lydia and her husband founded permanent churches in Montreal, QC and Lewisporte, NL. Throughout the years, she was a source of great strength, a pillar of the ministry and a faithful servant of God. Her husband attributes Lydia as the main person God used so that he may receive the spirit of God, and she lead him to walk the salvation-walk as she herself did. Her final days were spent surrounded by her close family as they read her favorite scriptures and rejoiced through song and praise. She is survived by her loving husband Claude, sisters Hannah Schmunk & Hedy McTavish, her two children Lincoln and Robin-Lee and three grandchildren, Marquise, Shiloh-Sheray and Easton. Her legacy lives on through her family and through the many souls that have been saved through her work.
