Charles Zane

1932-2009

Information

In Montreal on May 4, 2009 at l'Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur, Charles left us surrounded with love, peace and dignity.

Charles was happy-go-lucky and an outstanding joke teller. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed entertaining people. He adored his wife Pierrette as well as his sons Danny and Mark, his daughter-in-law Toni and his grandsons Charles III and Fernando. Passionate in everything he undertook, his hobbies were numerous: tennis, l'Hippodrome de Montréal, music (piano and base), his impersonation of Louis Armstrong. Career wise, Charles worked for 22 years for Yellow Freight System as Quebec Sales Manager. He proudly launched Yellow in 1970, the year they arrived in Quebec. He also leaves to mourn his brother Ronald (Rita) as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from la famille Haeck.

The family welcomes donations to Parkinson Society Quebec (1470-550, Sherbrooke Ouest, Tour Ouest, Montreal H3A 1B9).

Charlie was a mentor, a friend. We worked together many years at Yellow transportation in the Eastern Townships. I've heard many stories about Danny and Pierrette and the rest of his loving family. I heard the songs and the bad jokes many times and always loved them. Charlie was a class act and a good man who loved his job and his life. Peace to you Charlie. Sincerest condolences to family and friends. Daniel

I was a new sales rep for Yellow trying to learn how to sell, since i came from operations. Charlie was there every step of the way to help mentor me, and became a friend of mine through the process. It will be greatly missed!

To lose a loved one, a parent or any other important figure in our life, is one of the most difficult experiences to endure. Sometimes, when someone close passes away, we might even be at a loss for words. And that\'s ironic because this is precisely when words can count the most -- to acknowledge the sadness, to show support for those left behind, to recall the special -- and wonderful -- memories of the one who has left us. I share with you my sorrow, my strength and my love to all Rita
